Los Angeles, CA – Today, May 26th, at the Hall of Justice on Temple Street in Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva signed the petition to recall District Attorney George Gascon. The event was well attended by numerous supporters including Stop the Madness: Support Recalling District Attorney Gascon Now co-chair Marc Ang who commended the Sheriff on the boldness of his action.
Marc Ang is the president of Asian Industry Business 2 Business and has been raising awareness on key political issues within the Asian community. Marc is part of the broad and diverse coalition that Recall Gascon Now is building at the grassroots level, and which is necessary for the recall effort to successfully qualify for the ballot. Recall supporters have until October 27th to collect just under 580,000 qualified signatures.
Today’s signing event is on the heels of the 15th city, Palos Verdes Estates, who last night had a unanimous “No-Confidence” vote in Gascon and his polices. Palos Verdes Estates joins Santa Clarita, Beverly Hills, Pico Rivera, Lancaster, La Mirada, Whittier, Covina, Rosemead, Azusa, Santa Fe Springs, Diamond Bar, Arcadia, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach who had already also voted “No-Confidence.”
